Texas Hold'em!

Texas Hold'em poker is the most popular form of poker. You can find it played in any casino, real or virtual and also on the media, in the popular poker television shows.
Texas hold'em is a flashy, intense, aggressive and exciting game. These are the qualities that made it such a popular game.

The game itself is pretty easy to learn, especially if you already have a knowledge in the rules of other forms of stud or draw poker games. But behind the basic rules there's a big place for strategy and skill. This game, more than other variations of poker, gives a big importance to skill and game tactics, so if you want to be a better Texas Hold'em player, you just have to practice a lot, read a lot, play with other players or against the computer and so on. Only after a long period of practice you can really stand up against professional players. Remember that Texas hold'em is a lot more than just a luck game!

The game rules

The basic rule of the game is to form the best five card poker hand, using any combination of the pocket cards and the community cards.
The game starts when each player receives two down-face cards. Those cards are called the hole cards or the pocket cards. Then, the first round of betting starts and after it the dealer turns over three community cards face-up. This is the flop.
After the flop the second betting round starts and after it the dealer turns over another community card which is called the turn, or the fourth street.
Another round of betting takes place after the turn and then the final community card is being turned. This card is called the river. After the river the last betting round takes place and then the showdown in which all the players have to expose their cards.
The players can use their two cards and the five community cards to create the best five card poker hand. If the five community cards form the best hand, the players split the pot.
