Security First- How to deal with casino scams
The casino business involves lots of money. Some people prefer to use honest ways to earn it, and some use dishonest and illegal ways.
When entering a casino, online or land-based, you have to protect yourself from casino scams. Dealing with crooks and cheaters can ruin your gambling experience, so you better adapt cautious behavior when you play in online casinos or land-based casinos.
Here are some steps that you can take in order to minimize your chances to attract crooks and charlatans and to maximize your personal security:
- It's very advisable not to take your winnings in cash but to ask the cashier to issue you a check.
- Try not to bring a purse or a handbag to the casino. Wear a waist purse or make sure that your wallet is well-hidden and secure. This way your hands will also be free for the games and the machines. Watch out from pickpockets who use all sorts of scams to distract you and to steal your wallet or money buckets. Remember that the casino surveillance cameras are usually used to watch the casinos' money, not your money.
- If you came to the casino alone, you should ask the security guard to escort you to the car when you finish playing and preparing to leave. If the casino has valet parking, use it.
- Don't trust people who suddenly become your friends and give you all sorts of advices and tips about what to do with your money and similar things. If you win a big sum of money, be cautious and ensure that you're not being followed or watched by people. If you're feeling unsafe, approach on of the casino security staff and let him know.
- Don't believe people who suggest you 100%-success system to win at roulette, poker, blackjack or other casino games. They will usually want to sell you something or worst, to steal your money while giving you false information. There are no winning systems in the casino and even if they are, they are probably illegal. Don't trust it.
