My Favourites

Playing poker can be lots of fun, but sometimes it can be very slow and sometimes you are not in the mood to get involved with a sit down game of traditional poker. I recommend playing my favorite poker game Red Dog Poker.

Red Dog Poker

Red Dog Poker is not really in the poker family, but can be found in the casinos poker room or online casinos and online poker rooms.

The game begins with each player placing a bet. The bet can be any amount of money as long as it is more then the table minimum and less then the table's maximum bet. The dealer then deals 2 cards on the table. No matter how many players are playing red dog poker the deal is only 2 cards.

From the 2 cards the lower numbered card will be placed on the left side of the designated area and the higher numbered card on the right.

A player wins if the 3rd card falls between the spread. The spread is the numbers of cards that come between the numbers of the first 2 cards. If the first 2 cards are a 3 and a 6 then the spread is 2 because only 4, and 5 come between 3 and 6.

If you believe the next card will be within the spread you may raid your bet only by the exact amount of your first bet. If you do not want to risk it you may stick to your original bet. It does not matter if one player raises his bet you do not have to match his bet, remember this is not really poker.

The smaller the spread the larger the payout, so a spread of 2 or 3 pays out at 3 to 1 but a spread of 7 pays out at 1 to 1. If the 3rd card is not a match then it is a push and everyone keeps their money.

If the first 2 cards are the same a 3rd card is dealt if the 3rd card is the same as the first 2 cards dealt then each player gets paid 11 to 1 on their bets. If the fist 2 cards are sequential then it is a push and all players keep their money.

This is everything you need to know to sit down at a Red Dog Poker Table in any type of casino and look like you have played before.
