Tasty Poker Treats.
Some people like to serve things like pizza or chili, real man type stuff at their poker game, but the fact is that foods like that can ruin a game. When people are constantly getting up to go put food on their plate, they are not in their seat when their turn comes up, and this can be annoying to other players and at the very least it slows down the game.
You should try to avoid foods that need a fork or a knife, and especially greasy foods. By doing this you will make clean up at the end of the night faster and you will get to play more hands of poker, giving you better chances on winning some money.
Here is a recipe that was served recently at my regular Friday night poker games and it was really good.
One of the best things about it was that you could pick it up with a toothpick and it was bite size. There was no grease on my fingers and people were not constantly getting up to get more they could easily be put on a try table next to the poker table.
Wieners and Bacon Wraps
PREP TIME: 45 Min
COOK TIME: 45 Min
READY IN: 1 Hr 30 Min
SERVINGS: 16
INGREDIENTS:
1 pound sliced bacon, cut into thirds
1 (14 ounce) package beef cocktail wieners
3/4 cup brown sugar, or to taste
DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
Refrigerate 2/3 of the bacon until needed. It is easier to wrap the wieners with cold bacon.
Wrap each cocktail wiener with a piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick. Place on a large baking sheet. Sprinkle brown sugar generously over all.
Bake for 40 minutes in the preheated oven, until the sugar is bubbly. To serve, place the wieners in a slow cooker and keep on the low setting.
