Mexican police caught a wanted criminal and an accomplice after chasing the suspected drug cartel hit man thru the streets of Tijuana and into a crowded casino. he was caught and taken into custody but not before causing a disturbance in the casino causing the police to order everyone in the area to lay on the floor.
According to the Mexican Federal Public Security Department the suspect are Ruben Rios Estrada, known to be a key gunman for the Arellano-Felix cocaine cartel, and Hector Manuel Mora Mendoza, who is suspected to be a member of the same gang. They were brought to Mexico City under heavy guard for questioning.
The two were being chased at high speeds through the streets before they ducked into a casino and thought they had lost police and federal troops. Thinking they had got away the two decided to stay in the casino and do some gambling. Federal agents found them and took them into custody while they were gambling in the casino according to witness accounts.
The owner of the casino, the former mayor of Tijuana Jorge Hank Rhon, told the local papers that heavily armed and masked police stormed the casino, terrifying and putting the 1300 people in the casino in danger.
When police searched the suspect's car they found a shotgun, 2 handguns, several hundred rounds of ammo and several shirts with police emblems on them.
Mexico has been struggling to keep law and order in the boarder region which is noted for being home to drug smugglers.
