About 2500 gaming positions were left unfilled out of the 4500 gaming positions offered by MARINA Bay Sands.

These positions were expected to be filled by Singaporeans; however, it is seen that only 2000 positions have been filled.

The company is holding recruitment fair this week at the Suntec Convention Hall 603 and the posts are mainly to fill in specific positions for casino dealers. Singaporeans who are seeking casino jobs can make use of this opportunity because this is going be the last attempt of the company to fill in the positions from within Singapore.

"We'd expected to fill all the positions by now.” remarked Mr Ken Davie, who is the senior Vice President of the operations in the Marina Bay Sands.  The response is perhaps attributed to the fact that Singaporeans are not aware of the scope of the gaming industry.

The vacancies that are to be filled are for slots attendants, VIP hosts, cage cashiers, croupiers and other gaming positions.  The jobs have got clear ladders for advancement. The basic drawback in the recruitment process is due to the lack of awareness of what would be the job of a dealer.

The package is $1,800 for the basic pay and this is not inclusive of the tips and in situations when the business is more, then the pay can be as high as $2500 in one month. The promotional ladders are inspector, pit manager and shift manager for a dealer position.

The qualifications for the post are pretty simple, for an applicant to be eligible they must pass a basic math test and they may not be color blind.
