In the early hours Monday morning an arrest was made of a suspect in the Sunday night robbery of a west Kalispell casino by an armed man.

The suspect, Jason Robert Skalsky is currently being held at the Flathead County Detention Center for suspicion of robbery until he is formally charged by the Flathead County Attorney's office.

Police arrived at the Gold Dust Casino around 11:45pm Sunday night after receiving a call from someone in the casino about a man with a toy gun and a Halloween mask who had just robbed a casino employee.

A casino patron attempted to stop Skalsky before he could leave the casino. During his attempt to wrestle to thief to the ground Skalsky lost the gun, which turned out to be a toy and the bag of money according to Detective Sgt Scott Warnell the Detective handling the case.

The money was recovered, but Skalsky managed to get out of the casino and was seen running into the wooded area west of the Gateway West Mall

A search of the area by local police led police to Skalsky how was found lying in a grass field not far from the casino.

The police are currently checking to see if this robbery and other casino robberies in the area are connected.

In the last 60 days there have been 5 other robberies or attempted robberies in the areas casinos.
