The Yakama Nation plans to expand its Legends Casino located south to Yakima. Plus they consider to add an off track betting on horseracing to the casino. First, they thought to expand their gambling business by building new casinos in Washington or in Oregon, but rejected these options.

The Legends Casino expansion plan includes adding 4,000 square feet to the major floor and an off track horse racing betting. Today the casino occupies 600 people. Adding the off track betting was approved by state. Michael Hoptowit, Legends Casino general manager claims that their surrounding area supported the expansion of the casino.

Off track betting on horseracing is available in 20 other gambling sites in the US. Hoptowit says he received good response from the local residents about having a closer location to gamble on horseracing.
