The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC), owner of the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel, has donated a total of more than $13,800 to 14 high schools to fund alcohol and chemical-free graduation events.

Each year the SMSC supports these parties at the request of organizers of the event. This year the SMSC is helping to sponsor senior class parties for high schools in the local area including Prior Lake, Shakopee, Burnsville, Delano, Eastview (Apple Valley), Jordan, Kennedy (Bloomington), Mound Westonka, Richfield, Rosemount and the School of Environmental Studies (Apple Valley).

The SMSC is also helping sponsor graduation activities at the Marty Indian School, Flandreau Indian School and Little Wound School both in South Dakota.
