An Oklahoma judge has ruled that there is enough evidence to charge 2 former officers of the Grady County police force for gambling illegally at the Chickasha Elks Lodge.
The Comanche County judge also ruled that there was not enough evidence to charge a third officer with the charges of Felony gambling by a police officer.
The 3 men to appear before the judge are just some of the police officers that were found gambling at the Elks lodge. Eight former and current police officers have been arrested after the conclusion of a year long undercover investigation into the illegal gambling at the Elks Lodge last September. The investigation was run by the local District Attorney after hearing rumors of illegal gambling being help on the premises.
2 of the officers arrested were a sheriff and his wife who until her recent firing was a police supervisor.
During the raid the police found several electronic slot machines and video poker machines as well as evidence of a regularly held lottery and poker tournament.
All the items were confiscated and will be held as evidence for the trials of the operators of the illegal gambling operation, and the patrons.
