Gambling regulators to publicize the local impact reviews made by bidding Pennsylvania slot licenses

Pennsylvania gambling regulators will publicize by mid March the local impact reviews that were prepared by the bidding companies for the state slot licenses. The local residents will be able to read the reviews before the public hearings scheduled to April.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board considers posting the reviews on the internet in order to allow wider spreading of the information. The board officials had not agreed on a deadline for publicizing the reviews.

Some of the bidding companies and local officials in the proposed municipalities have already publicized part of the reviews. Critics claim that hiding the reviews from the public eye for two months after they were prepared has reduces residents ability to learn about the casino impact on their communities before the public hearings.
