The idea of opening casinos at the waterfront landscape of Moss Point as part of the revitalization plans was discussed at a recent meeting of the Mayor and board of aldermen of Moss Point.
Ward 6 Alderman, Al Bodden, said that at this point the board is only studying the issue but the intention is to talk to the representatives and to determine what it talks to bring casinos to the area.
The mayor of Moss Point, however, is not in favor of bringing casinos into his town. Xavier Bishop, the mayor, said that he's not in favor of the casinos because they will not suit the lifestyle that the citizens of this area seek. Mayor Bishop said that he believes that the casinos will benefit the citizens of other parts of the coast, mostly through tourism, but the presence of casinos on Moss Point cannot go hand in hand with the quiet and slow-paced lifestyle of the Coastian. Even though, the Mayor added, he will support the intention of the majority of the citizens.
