Atlantic City casinos consider new gaming technologies. Downloadable slot machine games may be used by Atlantic City casinos later this year. This new technology would enable casinos to modify their slot operations immediately with a computer key. Another gambling option is wireless gaming devices, which enables players to play outside the gambling area.

The new gaming technologies were discussed by state Casino Control Commission officials on Thursday. The Senate Wagering, Tourism and Historic Preservation Committee were also present at the committee. Gambling industry observers, product developers, casino operators and state regulators also spoke at the committee.

Linda Kassekert, chairperson of the Casino Control Commission believes 2006 can be an exciting year for the gambling industry. According to committee chairperson Senator Barbara Buono, D-Metuchen, the new technology would help Atlantic City casinos to compete with Pennsylvania planned casinos.
