Earlier this week, Nevada Gaming Commission approved the regulations for usage of hand-held devices in casinos. The meaning of this decision is that now, gamblers can bet without being at the table.
The hand-held devices manufacturers are facing two main problems : when will the devices reach the public and how the gambling public will react to them. The manufacturers believe that people will be interested in the freedom to gamble wherever and whenever they want, because everyone is already used to the freedom that mobile technology provides.
Nevada is the first state to approve the usage of such devices but not many casinos are willing to lead the way. Casino operators believe that the public wants to experience the real atmosphere of the casino and such devices will be providing the same experience.
The Las-Vegas based Station Casinos announced plans to open two hotel casinos in Reno that will have the possibility to use those gambling devices, yet casino officials said that it's up to the customers to decide whether to use this new service.
