The Malaysian police and cracking down hard to get rid of the illegal gambling operations that offer players illegal video games and video slot machines as well as underground poker games, according to a top Malaysian Police official.

Unlicensed illegal casinos, which are a big money maker for organized crime syndicates in Kuala Lumpur, have been the target of a crackdown led by the federal criminal investigations police director.

According to the Director "The target is to shut down all outlets by the end of March,'' he added "We believe there is a domino effect, there could have been thousands of outlets at one point, but we are confident that the number is now falling to a low level'' according to reports.

He also said they had no real idea of how many of these gambling rings are operating, but the word on the street is that a large number of gambling rooms have shut down since the start of the official crack down out of fear of getting arrested.

The aids started after reports of a rise in gambling addiction and debt because of these illegal gambling spots. These illegal casinos were also targeting children and encouraging them not to go to school.
