Iowa is on the verge of penalizing young gamblers and those selling lotteries.
State task force recommended on stiffing the penalty against lottery retailers and underage gamblers who use TouchPlay lottery machines.

Iowa task force recommended fining state lottery retailers and underage gamblers for the use of the TouchPlay lottery machines.

According to the current Iowa low, gambling on lottery is allowed from the age of 21. State lottery retailers can face up to one week license suspension for the first occurrence of underage gambling. State task force members recommended on Wednesday to stiff the penalty by adding a fine worth of one week profits.

The task force members also suggested fining the underage gamblers as well. Lottery officials agreed on a 250 dollars fine for each under 21 gamblers.

The task force members agreed they should monitor the TouchPlay machines available now in many of Iowa taverns, convenience stores and retail shops in order to prevent misuse by minors and compulsive gamblers.
