Ho Wah Genting announced last week its plans to open a new casino in Cambodia. The casino is planned to be opened at a leased seven-storey building that will also have 197 hotel rooms besides the casino. The planned casino itself will be able to accommodate up to 100 gaming tables.

Ho Wah Genting representatives said that they are committed to venture into this casino and resort business and it will generate future earnings to the group.

Ho Wah Genting has no relation to Genting and subsidiary Resorts World, the owners of the Genting casino in Malaysia, and analysts do not expect the new Cambodian casino to pose a threat to the Malaysian Genting casino.
