Counselor says that over-18 limit is not enough

Robert Mittiga, a counselor from Australia claims that the over-18 limit for gambling is not enough and that the Government must lift the legal age to 21.

Michael Wright, South Australia Administrative Services Minister announce his plans to lift the gambling limit age from 16 to 18. This age is the lowest age in which people can legally play lotteries and other gambling game.

In reaction to Wright's plans, Mittiga said that since 18-year-olds haven't really been able to develop a good relationship with money, this age limit is simply not enough. Mittiga added that they will be exposed to aggressive marketing and this will make them very vulnerable.
Since we see more and more cases of problem gambling, said Mittiga, the Government must treat this problem and to start with lifting the age limit for gambling.
