Congressmen attempt to reverse Online Gambling Ban

Congressmen join together in bi partisan attempt to legalize online gambling

Several members of Congress from the Republicans and the Democrats have gotten together to try and reverse certain parts of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.

It all started when 4 congressmen 2 republicans and 2 democrats sent out letters to all the members of Congress looking for support to reverse the UIGEA.

They are not only looking to remove penalties for banking institutions who fail to stop transfers to online casinos but to make online gambling legal as well.

The reason for this is because no system will be effective in stopping the transfer of funds for the purpose of gambling and the government has been informed of this several times from the group in charge of writing the regulations on what transfers are legal and which are not.

By legalizing online gambling, regulating the industry and taxing all bets and transfers the United States could make up to 48 Billion dollars in the first 10 years. That is 48 billion that could be going to fix Social Security, Schools and help get more Americans affordable healthcare.

The biggest hurdle in their efforts will be finding a way to prevent underage gambling. The credit card companies and regulatory commission will have to find a way to prevent anyone under the age of 18 to access the online casinos.

One method they are looking into would be fingerprint identification. Users would be required to purchase a fingerprint scanner. When you register an account with an online casino you will have to record and upload a finger print scan that they will put on your record. Then when you want to play all you have to do is put your finger on the scanner and you would be instantly logged in.
