In a recorded message to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, Actor Sylvester Stallone winked his eye and raised his fist to his chest in a way to tell the Board members that he knows they will do the right thing.
The message is just one of several celebrity names who sent in tapes for the Gaming Control Board in hopes of getting the state to grant them a casino license in Stallone%u2019s %u201CRocky%u201D caricatures home town of Philadelphia.
In Harrisburg PA the Gaming Control Board spent 3 days listening to testimony from several of the applicants for the 2 possible casino licenses that may be up for grab if the gambling law passes a vote on December 20th.
Most of what was herd at the meeting related to business plans, financial backing and traffic studies with the occasional peppering of celebrity cameos. Some of the celebrities that sent in tapes were Bruce Willis and Sly Stallone
and others like Donald Trump and music producer Quincy Jones showed u in person.
There are five professional casino operators all with political and celebrity investment partners and they are all hoping to get one of the two slot machine gambling licenses that may be available in Philadelphia if this law passes. It will make Philadelphia the largest US city with a casino.
