The Bon Vivant is a celebration of excellent food and drink. This year's Bon Vivant desert award went to
Gila River Casinos' culinary team. Presented with the ?Faire Extraordinaire Best Dessert Culinary Award,? the competition featured the casinos? own Wind Dance Restaurant Executive Sous Chef Bryan Lawlor and his culinary team.
The event was held at the Rawhide at Wild Horse Pass and highlighted an array of samples from over 30 of the Valley's best restaurants, resorts and catering companies.
The Gila River Casino culinary team was judged on presentation, taste and over all creativity within each grouping. Lawlor's culinary team's unique dessert featured fry bread angles displayed within a dish topped with strawberries and whipped cream. This mouthwatering dessert obviously made an impression with the judges and the Gila River Casinos? team was awarded the ?Faire Extraordinaire Best Dessert Culinary Competition,? and was recognized in the Arizona Republic food section this month.
