A Philadelphia resident was charged on Tuesday with attempted rape of a woman in the
stairwell of one of Atlantic City's casinos, according to Ted Housel the County Prosecutor
The 44 year old John J Aleksiejczyk was charged with sexual assault and criminal restraint, leading from his attack of a girl and attempted rape in the staircase of Caesars in Atlantic City. The assailants last known addresses were Philadelphia and an Atlantic City Rescue Mission.
The Victim, a 37 year old from California, whose name has not been released, was in the casino on March 9th for a business trip.
She had been helping a friend look for a lost Slots Club card when she was approached by her assailant according to the local police. She was forcefully dragged into one of the casinos stairwells where he began to chock her and he began to sexually assault her.
Alerted by the woman's screaming, an employee at the casino, Rodney Menz quickly alerted the casinos security force. Anthony Morris and J.P. Singh quickly located the 2 and managed to get the girl to safety and restrained the man until the police arrived and took him into custody.
This was not Aleksiejczyk's first time being arrested. In 1988, acting as a casino security member he removed a 15 year old form the casino floor of the Resorts Atlantic city casino. He told her parents that the child was too young to be on the casino floor and they agreed for her to be escorted by him back to their hotel room. Instead of taking her back to her room he took her to the casino bar and attempted to get her drunk. One of the casinos security cameras caught him pushing her up against a wall in one of the casinos elevators. He pleaded guilty to fourth degree child abuse and received 5 years probation.
