Betting Lines and Types of Bets
Betting lines are a way to make your sports betting more convenient. The main idea of the betting lines is simple: instead of giving each team their own odds, the bettor gives the whole game a betting standard.

Types of wagers
Generally there are two main types of wagers that can be found in most of the big and respected sportsbooks.
- Money Line Bet- this bets are used to set odds on sports like baseball, hockey or soccer or on individual matches like in boxing. The bookmakers are usually using straight-up odds (and this is why those bets are also called straight-up bets sometimes).
- Point Spread Bet- This form of betting that is very common on sports like football. The main idea is to bet on the outcome of a sports event. The more accurate the gamble, the more money is won. The best is usually made against a spread or an index and the bettor has to bet if the outcome of the sports event will be above or below the suggested spread. The money that is won (or lost) depends on the level of the index at the end of the event.
