The Kentucky governor is in favor of casino gambling and it will happen.

Casino Gambling in the Kentucky State race tracks is not against Constitutional Law.

Governor Steve Beshear did propose a plan to introduce video lottery terminals and slot machines in the horse race tracks of the state.

The proposal was discussed in the session which has been scheduled exclusively to discuss the deficiency in the budget.  The casino gambling deal was put forth for discussion as the governor felt that it would aid with additional funds to the state.  The session also discussed the bail out of the horse racing industry.

It was also noted that Beshear was not ready for any other kinds of alternative discussions.  He behaved much like he did when he required the seizure of online casino domain names in the past year; however, attorney Conway did not talk against that operation then.

The session also was considering a constitutional amendment to legalize the slot machines in the race tracks.  However, an attorney based in Kentucky, General Jack Conway, stated that bringing up casino gambling in Kentucky race tracks is not against constitutional law.

When General Conway was providing with an advisory to the legislature he stated that there really is no need for any kind of amendment to execute the governor’s plan.  Following the legal clarification provided in the advice the governor was impressed and was happy that they can proceed further with the implementation of the plan without any legal hurdles in the process of implementation of the plan. All seems to be well and going ahead when the governor wants it his way.
